Service Description

Join this unique food tour to discover the secrets of Chinese afternoon tea. You’ll indulge in traditional desserts and savor aromatic green or black tea. Stroll around famous Huaihai Road as we visit some of the city’s best dessert shops. Sit down at a popular Shanghai tea house to taste Pu'er, ginseng oolong, jasmine and black tea during a classic tea ceremony. In addition, you will also enjoy mango puree, jellied mousse cake and other chilled desserts. Meet your friendly private guide at 2pm, and you’ll embark on your relaxing afternoon tea tour from Huaihai Road. Next, we’ll sit down at a teahouse to participate in a tea ceremony. China’s tea culture dates back centuries, and people here do believe that drinking tea keeps the doctor away. You’ll sample green tea from Hangzhou and black tea from Fujian province. By observing the classic tea ceremony, you will get a better understanding of why certain teaware and water temperatures are suited for specific tea leaves. You’ll also learn where the most famous teas originate – and hear the fascinating story of how the Western appetite for tea changed world history. If you cancel at least 7 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel between 3 and 6 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is a 50 percent cancellation fee. If you cancel within 2 day(s) of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee.
